Camp Massapoag

Our NEW Camp Director and Tyngsboro Childcare Director

We are very excited to introduce you to our NEW Camp Director for Camp Massapoag and Tyngsboro Childcare (following the school calendar).

Peter Rizzo is the Lowell YMCA’s newest director of Camp Massapoag. Pete is a native of Massachusetts, but comes to Lowell from the YMCA of the Triangle Area in Raleigh, NC. From 2011 until December 2012, he was Senior Youth Director supervising a large day camp, after-school, and teens. Before Raleigh, Pete worked for the Hockomock Area YMCA in Franklin, MA from 2008-2011 as Camp, Teen, and Outdoor Education Director. He’s happy to call Lowell his new home and cannot be more excited to work with the kids and families of Lowell and surrounding communities.  Some of you have met Pete at the Tyngsboro Childcare site.  For those of you that he has not yet met, he looks forward to meeting you at Camp Massapoag!

Camp Massapoag is located in Dunstable, Massachusetts on beautiful Lake Massapoag.  While walking the camp grounds, the smiles and laughter are contagious.  Campers enjoy many fun activities throughout the summer such as archery, boating, swimming lessons, arts & crafts, low ropes course, sports & games, a rock wall, and team building activities.  However, Massapoag is special because of the relationships strengthened between campers and staff, and the memories that result.  Campers leave Massapoag having strengthened their character. their self-confidence, and their desire to return next year!  Massapoag staff all pass extensive background checks and log more than 25 hours of training before camp begins.  Our priority is to keep your child safe and to make sure that your child creates lasting happy memories every day.  At YMCA Camp Massapoag we focus on youth development and maintain an environment in which all campers and staff are growing in spirit, mind and body. Come join us for a summer of new experiences, new friends, and lots of fun!
