Financial Assistance
Thanks to funds from our Annual Campaign, the Greater Lowell Family YMCA provides financial assistance for children, teens, adults and families who cannot afford the full cost of a Y membership or programs.
We use a sliding fee scale based on total household income and the number of household members. We require supporting documentation to verify household size and income, and we consider special circumstances when providing assistance.
Recipients are expected to be responsible for a percentage of the membership cost and/or the program fees. Qualification for YMCA financial assistance for membership is reviewed every year.
How to Apply
- Download a financial assistance application from our website or pick one up from our Welcome Desk.
- Complete the form, and attach a copy of the required financial documents.
- Email the form and required documents to our Membership Director at jreyes@lowellymca.org, fax the form and required documents to 978-454-8982 or return the application and required documents to the Greater Lowell YMCA Welcome Desk.
MEMBERSHIP CANCELLATIONS/HOLDS
- Auto pay (EFT, ACH) memberships require a 2 week written notice for cancellations or holds. Cancellations/holds can be made in person at the Welcome Desk, online in your Daxko account portal, by fax, or by mail. Cancellations/holds will not be taken by phone. If you do not submit a 2 week written notice prior to your scheduled payment date you will be charged the next scheduled payment after notice is received.
- Memberships can be placed on hold for up to 3 months per calendar year. For medical related holds requiring more than 3 months please contact the Membership Director.

Billing
- Any changes (membership category, bank account information, membership hold/freezes, etc..) must be in writing.
- Auto pay membership dues will continue being charged to my payment method until I submit a cancellation notice in writing.
- The YMCA will provide a 30- day written notification to all auto pay members when there will be a change in pricing.
- Returned payments may be subject to a $25 service charge.
- Joiner Fees and Membership Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
